Church Point Man Dead After Being Pinned Underneath Car

Police in Acadia Parish have released the name of the 54-year-old Church Point man who died after he was pinned underneath a car.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Maxine Trahan said Paul Brent Bourgeois had purchased a set of tire rims from a homeowner on Ed Thibodeaux Road Thursday, and he was in the process of removing those rims when the car fell on top of him.

Trahan said the accident was caused when a jack gave way.

Bourgeois was pronounced dead at the scene.
