Within a few months police officers and first responders will be able to get training in Church Point at the site of a former sewing facility. According to our news partners at KATC the town of Church Point owns the building but a few private companies are investing to purchase the 75,000 square foot facility and turning it into a training center that will benefit the local economy. Church Point Mayor Roger Boudreaux says 10,000 trainees will use the facility each year adding a need for more hotel space and restaurants.
