Cigarette Tax Renewal To Go To Voters

Before adjourning the 2011 legislative session, lawmamkers approved a constitutional amendment that will ask voters whether or not they want to renew a four-cent cigarette tax beyond 2012. It will also ask voters if more tobacco settlement dollars should be dedicated to the TOPS scholarship program. The measure will be on the ballot October 22nd.
