The City of Scott is hopeful that their new sewer and water improvements will prove attractive to business and industry along the Interstate 10 and Highway 93 interchange.

The Scott City Council voted to open bids on a $1.2 million in water and sewer improvements project last week.

Most of the funding for the new project would come from Louisiana's capital outlay fund.

The City of Scott will be responsible for around 10 percent of the cost of the project.
