City/Parish Charter Vote

The new Lafayette proposition for a separate city and parish charter "could" be on the ballot as early as this October. The council is expected to vote on a resolution with an election date in coming weeks pending justice department's approval.  In other news about local elections, the school system's property tax could be held during the october election, but that has yet to be decided.
