City Marshal Brian Pope announced on Facebook that his agency has commissioned Clay Higgins as a Reserve City Marshal.

Clay Higgins, who was once the spokesperson for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, resigned after he made a few controversial comments about an alleged gang in Acadiana.

Will we see Higgins involved in apprehending fugitives in Lafayette? We'll have to wait and see about that—however, we're certain that law enforcement runs deep Clay Higgins' veins.

If I had to guess, the newly commissioned marshal will be part of the weekly televised show "Holding Accountable," which airs locally on AOC. This program highlights those wanted in the city of Lafayette.

Congratulations to the Lafayette City Marshal's Office and Clay Higgins on the announcement.
