The power is back on after customers experienced outages this morning in New Iberia and Ville Platte.

Cleco Representative Robbyn Cooper says about 1,400 customers at Hopkins Street and Highway 90 in New Iberia were affected. In Ville Platte, Cooper says about 500 Cleco customers were without power.

Officials believe the Ville Platte outages were weather-related. They are still trying to figure out what caused the New Iberia outages.

Also, for those customers who lost power in Crowley this morning, Cooper says those power outages were caused by a lightning strike. Power was restored in this area around 7 a.m.
