Coach Hudspeth: Not Necessarily The News

In this edition of "Not Necessarily The News," Tootie Landry tells you about the head football coach of UL's Ragin' Cajuns.

Hey! I’m Tootie Landry and this is what I found out today! Down in the bayous of south Louisiana, there is a new excitement in the air, and it’s partly due to the new face in town! I recently got a chance to sit down with this once aspiring rock star. This tough guy’s love for his family and friends was evident by the tender pictures displayed throughout his office.

He doesn’t pretend to be anyone he’s not! A country boy who’s role model was his Dad and his favorite food--- home cooking!

When asked, “What is your biggest fear in life?” He replied, “Disappointing people.”

I couldn’t help but notice his punctuality and his meticulous desk. No surprise, the book he was reading was "The Lone Survivor". A story that is a testament to the true spirit of a Navy Seal.

This progressive gentleman is the letter “I” in the words: Intensity, Influence, and Inspiration.

He is the football season on Saturday night in the Swamp.

And yes, Acadiana, I think we would all agree, so far Coach Hudspeth is not disappointing anyone!
