NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A fire on an oil platform off Louisiana's coast is still burning.

The fire was reported early Friday morning. Twenty-eight workers were evacuated. No injuries were reported. A light sheen of oil was visible from the air but, as of Friday evening, no major pollution problems had been reported in Breton Sound, just off Louisiana's southeast coast.

Production on the platform was shut down.

Authorities' latest estimate is that the storage tanks on the rig may hold as much as 5,400 gallons of oil — far below their capacity of 168,000 gallons. The Coast Guard said a containment boom and skimmers were on the way to the area in case they are needed.
