One of your callers was right on about legalizing weed. The same people go nuts when you light up a cigarette, yet a joint, which has 100 times more carcinogens, is just fine. I haven’t heard such convoluted reasoning in all my life, why don’t they just speak truth, they want to get high when they want to get high and nobody should tell them any differently. I guess that’s why they call it DOPE!

For crying out loud! When you have 62% of our federal budget earmarked for “entitlements,” you have a major problem. It’s time to quit this “government care” for all these lazy bums who have learned how to lie and cheat to “steal” from the government to receive money and services for doing one thing…sit on their lazy butts and/or make illigetimate kids. I’m sick and tired of my hard earned money going to the government only to give it to those cheating theives (I overheard a group discussing what to say/write on the federal and state forms in order to get “aid” from several government programs whether needed it or not.)

I work for the LSU Health System and this will be our 3rd year without a pay raise. Dr. Butler interm CEO of LSU Health care system took the 4% pay increase from all LSU Health care system employee two years ago to balance the budget for the 09/10 FY. Which means that If the Gov. Jindal takes this raise away from all state employees I will have lost a total of 12% of my salary. How unfair is that!!!!!

Mr. Landry’s question has an answer, but it comes with a history lesson. The Secretary of Interior, Mr. Ken Salazar is a great friend of the President. When they were in the Senate, they formed a bound that continues through this day. They are of like mind, and consider themselves to be modern-day Robin Hood. Take from the rich and give to the poor. they both operate from a mind set that allows them to believe that they know better than we do, what is good for this country and for it’s citizens.

Mr. Salazar was the Senator from Western Colorado, at this time, and was also very involved with the Governor of Colorado, Bill Ritter. As an anti-Oil & Gas advocate, Mr. Salazar used that relationship and his political clout to convince Governor Ritter that the Oil & Gas Industry needed to be more closely scrutinized and that a larger portion of their “obscene profits” could be collected by the State.

Their plan, included the dismantling and re-organizing of the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC), and an increase in regulatory oversight and fees related to the exploration, production and transmission of oil & gas within the State.

This plan passed the State Legislature, by verbal vote, and within a few weeks, their thriving economy, bustling and growing oil & gas business, and thousands of working families were wholly dependent upon the state.

Thousands of people lost jobs in the state, and most of them moved away to find work. I was one of those people. I was a regional executive with a Drilling Contractor that saw his fleet of 25 rigs and 560 employees reduced to 3 rigs, a management team merger, and a reduction in force of over 400 people.

Mr. Salazar understood what effect this legislation would have on Western Colorado, and he understands what effect this new legislation will have on the country. It is his intention to ruin the industry, regardless of the cost to the American people, because he truly believes that he knows better than we, how we should live and what we should be able to do.

Socialism cannot take over unless the dependent class rises up for more entitlements. These men will do whatever it takes to create this dependent class and turn it into the majority. Ruining the driving force behind our economy is the fastest route to government dependency, and Mr. Salazar knows it. Don’t let him fool you, he and the President are of like mind on this, and they want to limit or prevent drilling for as long as they can. It is their desire to see the Oil Companies abandon these shores and waters for easier, more cooperative areas and leave the work force dependent on government.
