CAMERON, La. (AP) — The Cameron Parish Veterans Wall Committee is seeking local veterans to add to its wall honoring military veterans.

World War II veteran C.W. "Sing" Faulk says the committee received applications from about 10 veterans but is seeking more. The wall, located in front of the parish courthouse, bears the names of nearly 3,000 veterans who either lived or worked in Cameron and who served in all military branches, including the National Guard.

The American Press reports Faulk said the two granite monuments in front of the wall will have a quote inscribed on them. One will say "God gives us freedom" and the other will say "Veterans preserved it."
