The Independent has named Lafayette Consolidated Government the recipient for a special award presented to parties responsible for ventures that will leave a lasting longterm impact on the community. LCG was chosen for the award because of the Comprehensive Plan. City-Parish President Joey Durel joined "Nathan and Bernie in the Morning" for our "Lafayette Live" segment to discuss the award.

Durel credited the award to the foresight of the council as well as the hard work and tireless hours of three individuals.

"Between Karlie and Kevin and of course Steve Oubre, who is a paid consultant for us locally, they’ve just done so much to get this thing where it’s at today.
