Congressman Clay Higgins Gets New Committee Assignment

Louisiana's Third District Congressman Clay HIggins has received a new committee assignment for the 116th Congress.

In this Congress, Higgins will be serving on the House Oversight & Reform Committee.

According to the press release, Higgins will be working on a committee that "focuses on government accountability and reducing waste, fraud and abuse.

After receiving the appointment Higgins says there will likely be opportunities for Democrats to focus on hurting President Trump.

He says,

"Democrats will do everything in their power to attack and obstruct President Trump. The Oversight & Reform Committee will be an important battleground over the next two years. I will be a loud voice against these liberal attacks. My focus will be reducing waste, fraud and abuse within the federal government. Our government should serve the American people, not its own bureaucracy."
