ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) — South Louisiana Community College will break ground for its new $9.2 million campus in St. Martinville.

KATC-TV reports the new campus will replace the current one on Martin Luther King Drive in St. Martinville.

Practical nursing, automotive repair, welding and general education programs are expected to be housed on the new campus.

The development is part of a $173.7 million bond package for 23 construction projects on 14 campuses administered by the Louisiana Community and Technical College System.

Groundbreaking ceremonies are set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
