Residents in Lafayette will get one last chance to express their opinions about those controversial smart meters.

City-Parish President Joey Durel will hold a public forum Monday tonight to answer questions about the meters.

LUS says the new meters will reduce their expenses and provide more accuracy. Opponents, though, call it an invasion of privacy.

The City-Parish Council has already approved the installation of the meters, but they have yet to decide whether or not they'll allow residents to opt out.

The forum is scheduled to start at 5:30 at the Fontana Center.
