A former counselor at Ascension Episcopal School was sentenced to 30 years in prison for trying to get a student to engage in sex.

Dr. Allison Hargrave began counseling the 14-year-old girl in the spring of 2009. According to court testimony, when the next school year rolled around, Hargrave began texting and emailing the teen, graphically explaining her sexual desires with her and making plans to meet her. Later in the school year, she raped the girl in a medical office in Lafayette, and continued to chat and engage in sexual acts with her. In addition to her 30-year sentence, Hargrave faces 20 years of supervised release and must pay the victim over $279,000 in restitution.
