Convicted Murderer Escapes Michigan Prison
IONIA, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a man serving life behind bars for killing four people has escaped from a Michigan prison.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says 40-year-old Michael David Elliot was discovered missing about 9:30 p.m. Sunday from the Ionia Correctional Facility in mid-Michigan.
Authorities say Elliot may have abducted a woman from Ionia using a knife or box cutter and drove to Elkhart, Ind., about 100 miles away.
The woman got away at a gas station and called police.
