Convicted Sex Offender Arrested After Breaking Into Crowley Home
CROWLEY, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Crowley arrested a convicted sex offender shortly after he allegedly broke into a home.
According to Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson, police received a call from the homeowner at about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
"The resident placed themselves in a safe location and called 911," Gibson said.
When police arrived, they found 47-year-old Michael Renee Matthews inside the home, where they were able to arrest him, Gibson said.
Matthews has been convicted in the past on a slew of criminal charges, including rape, burglary, and attempted murder, Gibson said.
