On February 17th at the Doubletree by Hilton, Beads for Less on Pinhook will present the Krewe de Bayou Hollywood Walk of Fame Mardi Gras Ball. You're invited! This Mardi Gras ball is unique in several different ways.

You don't have to be a member of a krewe to be invited. You don't need to bring extra cash and credit cards for drinks because an open bar is included in your ticket.

The ball is being hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton on Pinhook so you can book a room and not worry about driving home afterward. They have warm cookies and a special room rate just for this Mardi Gras ball. Be sure to ask about that when you book your room.

It's also a Mardi Gras ball that gives you options when it comes to just how much fun you want to have. You may certainly dress in your ball finery. That could be a tuxedo and a formal gown. You may choose to dress in a suit for the gentlemen and a nice dress for the ladies. Or, you can come in costume.

We have been pondering some costume ideas for couples. According to the website Sky.com , these are the top 50 movie couples of all time. Unfortunately, a lot of those couples are pretty hard to costume around. Unless you look like Bud and Sissy from Urban Cowboy most people will think you are simply leftovers from the rodeo.

There were still some good ideas, Anthony and Cleopatra, Scarlett and Rhett, Fiona and Shrek, Ennis and Jack from Brokeback Mountain, Sandy and Danny from Grease, and Han and Leia from Star Wars. The rest of the couples just looked like regular people which make a costume hard to explain.

If you're tastes run more to the small screen of television E! Online offers their 50 Greatest TV Couples as suggestions. There are Lucy and Ricky, Homer and Marge, Fred and Wilma, Betty and Barney, There is also Andy Griffith and Aunt Bea from Mayberry, Felix and Oscar from the Odd Couple, Mork and Mindy, and Sarah Jessica Parker and Secretariat. Although they never starred together you can tell by looking they would be a match made in heaven.

We suggest you be witty and wild and remember a couple doesn't have to look like a couple. You can come as a Storm Trooper and Barbara Walters if it's your desire. This Mardi Gras ball is less about being pretentious and more about having fun and celebrating the joie de vivre that is our home.
