Could Major Changes Be On The Way For Acadian Middle School?

Acadian Middle School possibly could become the third school in Lafayette Parish in five years to undergo a reconstitution.

A reconstitution plan would allow school administrators and principals to overhaul faculty and staff.  The plan would also allow principals to implement new techniques to aimed at raising academic scores.

Principal Linda Nance took over at Acadian Middle in November of last year.  Nance asked permission from district officials to be able to revamp the school's staff.  She also wants to start some new instructional practices to try to raise test scores.

Acadian Middle received a D from the Louisiana Department of Education in the most recent scores.
