Crash In Calcasieu Sends Woman To Hospital With Serious Injuries Yesterday

Around 11 in the morning, State Troopers responded to a call about a crash on highway 171 near North Perkins Road. According to the troopers,  Ashley Oles, of  Texas, pulled on to the highway in a truck when another vehicle driven by Gary Martin, of Anacoco, was unable to avoid hitting the truck.

Oles was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the truck. She was severely injured in the crash and was transported to Saint Patrick's Hospital. Oles was also cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation and toxicology results are still pending.

The State Police would like to remind everyone that it is a law in Louisiana to wear your seat belt and to drive carefully.
