Crowley Chief Completes New Training
On July 1, Crowley Police Department Chief K.P. Gibson will assume the reigns of the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Department as their new Sheriff.

The weeklong training is put on by the Louisiana Sheriffs' Institute for all incoming Sherrifs in the state.
The purpose of the Institute's training is to make incoming officials more trained in the following areas:
- Management of the Sheriff's Department as a whole
- Review of requirements of the office of Sheriff
- Overal Operations of the Sheriff's Department
Sheriff's in Louisiana take office on July 1 which is the start of a new fiscal year.
