One man's reckless driving causes another man to lose his life. Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says the crash happened in Crowley, but the police chase began in Rayne. Gibson says Joshua Jackson of Crowley was speeding through Rayne just after midnight. Rayne Police tried to stop him, but he kept on going. Officers then stopped chasing him because they were concerned about other drivers on the road, but they continued to follow Jackson and alert Crowley authorities as they were entering that city's limits. As Jackson's SUV entered the city from Highway 90 east, he struck a car from behind, causing major damage to it and flipping his own truck. The driver he hit, Aaron Hamilton, died on the scene. A passenger in the car suffered moderate injuries. Jackson faces a variety of charges including DWI...his 4th offense...and Vehicular Homicide. Police are still investigating.
