Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says his investigators have arrested a man following Monday morning's homicide in the 1400 block of West Northern Avenue.

Gibson says,

"Members of our department which include patrol and investigations have worked diligently to solve the shooting death of Ryan Gums. Though this investigation is far from over, investigators have made an arrest last evening of Shedrick Robinson, 22 of Crowley."

 

Robinson has been charged with one count of second degree murder, and the man was booked int the Acadia Parish Jail.

His bond was set at one million dollars by Judge John Trahan.

Gibson adds,

"We are still working to verify the motive in this case. Our investigators have a long road ahead of them as we are seeking one or two other unidentified suspects who are believed to be involved in this senseless murder."

Crowley Police says the shooting around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning.

Gums had been shot several times in the upper torso.  He was taken to a hospital, but he died from his injuries.
