Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says the culmination of a three month long investigation has resulted in one arrest with multiple charges being filed.

On the evening of Thursday March 20, 2014 officers executed a search warrant at 1027 William Egan Avenue in Crowley and arrested 32 year old Steven Mayfield. During the search officers recovered 10 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $16,000. 9 grams of cocaine and a number of pills. Agents also found a .40 caliber Glock with obliterated serial numbers and seized over $2,500 in cash, a Ford F-250 truck, a Suzuki four wheeler and a Honda four wheeler.

Mayfield was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, cocaine, Alprazolam, Hydrocodone and monies derived from drug proceeds. He was also charged as a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.

Chief Gibson said,

It is not simply about the arrest and recovery of the narcotics. We need to go after all the assets of drug dealers to support our fight against this illegal activity.

Official paperwork for seizure of all the assets confiscated have been filed with the 15th Judicial District Court.
