Narcotics and patrol officers from Crowley Police teamed up last night to make arrests for illegal drugs.

In their first arrest yesterday evening, police stopped a driver on Western Avenue, and they saw the man drop something on the ground.

Chief K.P. Gibson says his officers recovered crack, and they arrested 48-year-old Carlos Hubbard for possession of crack cocaine.

Officers were trying to stop 28-year-old Jeremy Williams, but he drove away, hitting someone's front porch, and then he fled on foot.

Gibson says they set a perimeter in the area, and used K-9 "Karo" to track Williams to an abandoned house.

Gibson says,

"With the suspect fleeing several blocks to an abandon residence, our K-9 came in handy. He and his handler did the job that they train for on a daily basis."

Williams was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Criminal damage to property
  • Aggravated flight
  • Monies derived from drug proceeds
