Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says his officers continue to investigate a homicide that happened Sunday in the 600 block of West 7th Street.

Chief Gibson says the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Taylor Beverly of Crowley.

The Chief says,

"There is no value on a human life with this shooting and the other senseless shootings which have occurred during the last several years. I ask that our citizens get involved and report what they know. If you choose to remain anonymous report your information through Crime Stoppers. Otherwise contact our detectives or call me directly."

Police say Beverly was shot multiple times and left for dead.  While the man was taken to an area hospital, he died from his injuries.

Officers are working on several leads in the case.  One lead suggests that a single gunman walked up to Beverly and shot him.

Another tip suggests that the suspect may have gotten into a car to flee the scene.

Chief Gibson says their information gathering suggests that the suspect is possibly a black male with a medium build and possibly in his 20's.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crowley Police Department or Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers at 789-TIPS.
