Cruz Says His Eyes Are On The White House

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — He's been campaigning unofficially for months, but now Ted Cruz is making it official -- declaring his candidacy for president.

The Texas Republican senator is making the announcement at Liberty University in Virginia -- a sign that he will be aggressively courting both cultural conservatives and young voters. The school calls itself the world's largest Christian college.

Cruz earlier revealed his plans on Twitter, saying, "I'm running for president and I hope to earn your support!"
