If Christmas had a signature song, at least on the secular side, it would have to be Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The song from the film Holiday Inn and the musicale of the same name will come alive in Acadiana on December 7th,8th, 9th, and 10th at Acadiana's most beautiful performing arts venue The Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley.

The White Christmas story is a story of America after World War II. It was a time of hope and a new beginning after the hardships of war. The musical follows the lives of two veterans who have developed a song and dance act as they prepare to perform at a lodge owned by their former Army commander.

If you love Christmas and love nostalgia and have a longing for Christmas the way it used to make you feel you can't miss this performance. All done by a cast of performers many of whom are seniors in high school or younger.

CYT Lafayette, Christian Youth Theater of Lafayette, is the presenting organization of this performance. This group has played an important part in my family's personal life. My daughter, Anna, has been in countless CYT productions and she still comes home from college to be a part of the CYT crew.

This is what happens when good kids are mentored by caring adults in a positive atmosphere. I am grateful to CYT for what they've done for my kid and even if you don't have kids involved. You'll be grateful too once you experience the over the top talent of this incredible performing arts organization.

Here's how you can get a ticket.
