RESERVE, La. (AP) — A man's body has been pulled out of a pond behind the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve.

St. John the Baptist Parish Coroner Christy Montegut tells The Times-Picayune the death appears accidental but may have been caused by a medical condition.

The man's name was withheld until his family could be notified.

Montegut says an autopsy scheduled Tuesday would tell whether a medical condition such as a heart attack contributed to the death.

Sheriff Mike Tregre says authorities don't believe the man had been in the pond long before his body was found about 9:45 a.m. Monday.
