Dead Man Found In Lafayette Murder Victim’s Car Identified
An update to an ongoing story. Police say the dead man found in the car which belonged to a Lafayette woman murdered early this morning has been identified as Michael Alanzo Denson. Investigators say he died of an apparent suicide. It's believed that Denson got into an argument with the victim, Mellissa Lair, and stabbed her several times in the upper body. Police say he then took her car and fled the scene. That car was later found at a rest stop on I-49 in St. Landry Parish. The case remains under investigation.
