The deadline for rice farmers to get a piece of a multi-million dollar settlement has been extended to November 21.

Growers claim Bayer CropScience mistakenly sold genetically modified seed in the United States. Without claims from growers representing 85 percent of the average acres planted from 2006 to 2009, Bayer could walk away from the $750 million settlement. The settlement extends to all U.S. farmers who planted long-grain rice between 2006 and 2010. It's grown in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Florida and California.
