WASHINGTON, Ill. (AP) — The search for people who may still be trapped in the rubble from yesterday's tornadoes continues in Illinois, but officials doubt that the death toll will climb.

Six people were killed in Illinois by the violent weather and about 200 were injured -- including about 120 who were in the town of Washington when a tornado ripped through the community. The National Weather Service says it was an EF-4 tornado, with winds of 170-190 miles an hour. The mayor says anywhere from 250 to 500 homes were damaged or destroyed.

Two deaths in Michigan are also blamed on the violent weather.
