Democrat Tara Hollis is kicking off a statewide listening tour as a part of her campaign for Governor. Among others Hollis has a meeting planed with Governor Jindal. UL Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross says Jindal's willingness to meet with Hollis is an attempt to reach out to disaffected constituents.

Hollis says she hopes to meet with all of the living former Governors and has meetings planned with a number of state legislators. She is also meeting with public affairs organizations such a PAR, LABI and Blueprint Louisiana. Cross says, given her lack of money and name recognition, a listening tour is a good idea.

Cross doesn't see any other potential challengers to Jindal on the horizon leaving Hollis as the only viable contender. He says that keeps her campaign in the news and that goes a long way to make up for her lack of campaign money.
