DeRidder Man Arrested In Crab Trap Thefts

A man from DeRidder was arrested after police allege he was taking crab traps from the Calcasieu Lake that belong to another fisherman.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reports that Robby Joe Wiley was booked on the theft charges.

Wiley's boat was seized by authorities during their investigation along with 46 crab traps.

Police say that Wiley replaced another fisherman's lines with his own.

Wiley is also accused of using another person's commercial fishing license because he did not have his own.
