Today sentencing was handed down to a co-owner of Desperado's Cabaret and five employees for racketeering and drug sales.

70 year old Dipak Vora of Baton Rouge was sentenced to 10 months in prison, one year of supervised release and fine $10,000 on one count of interstate or foreign travel or transportation in aid of racketeering. In addition Vora agreed to forfeit $514,000 of illegal proceeds and Desperado's property.

44 year old Gerald Cormier of Carencro was sentenced to 29 months in prison and one year of supervised release on his conviction of distribution of cocaine.

Three employees were sentenced for one count of conspiracy to maintain drug involved premises and distribution of controlled substances.

53 year old Elias "E.J." White was sentenced to 54 months of probation.

42 Year old Heike Slattery of Carencro was sentenced to two years probation.

32 year old Cyrstal Sampy of Lafayette was sentenced to three years probation and a $1,000 fine.
