Opelousas Police and other authorities are investigating after an Opelousas woman collapsed while officers were trying to calm everyone down in the dispute, according to our news partners at KATC.

The argument happened at Cherry Street on Friday night when a man went to see the deceased woman's daughter at her home. That's when everyone at the home began arguing and OPD was called to the scene.

Officers say the woman collapsed while she was standing outside and later died at the hospital.

The woman's identity has not yet been released and authorities still don't know her cause of death.

The deceased woman's brother, David Joseph, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, while one woman was cited with aggravated assault.
