The 17th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept the Sun Belt Conference weekly awards, which were announced on Tuesday.

Shortstop DJ Sanders was named Player of the Week, while pitcher Alyssa Denham was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week.

It's the second time this season that the duo swept the SBC weekly awards, after accomplishing the feat back on February, following their exploits in a series against nationally-ranked Alabama.

A junior from Columbia, Mississippi, Sanders hit three grand slam home runs last week, including two in one game against Texas St.

For the week, Sanders went 4-for-9 at the plate, including 3 homers, 5 runs scored, and 14 runs batted in.

This marks the fourth time this season that Sanders has won the Player of the Week award from the league, tying her with former UL great Holly Tankersley, for the second-most ever, one behind another former UL great, Danyele Gomez, who won the honor a record 5 times in 2006.

A freshman from Alvin, Texas, Denham took home the award for the second time this season, after Denham earning two wins last week.

In 17 innings last week, the right-hander allowed only two earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 10 batters over 17 innings of work.

Louisiana has now claimed 86 player of the week honors and 77 pitcher of the week honors since the Sun Belt Conference began handing out the honors back in 2000.
