Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says they are looking for 34-year-old Chad Thibodeaux of Crowley for a 2008 residential burglary and a 2012 attempted burglary of a business after DNA evidence has "recently helped bring new life to these cases".

The Chief says that DNA evidence has linked Thibodeaux to the 2008 burglary of a home, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Gibson adds,

"Although evidence has been obtained in the 2012 case, additional follow up is needed and our assigned investigator is working on it. "During the last month, we have had two cold cases which evidence has given us leads to reopen the cases. DNA evidence has recently helped bring new life to these cases."

Gibson says that Thibodeaux has been hiding from law enforcement.  He says the suspect is also being sought for other crimes in recent months.  According to Gibson, Thibodeaux is no stranger to the criminal justice system as his criminal history dates back to 1995, and he has been charged on multiple occasions with burglary, theft, narcotics and other crime.  He has also served multiple stints in jail related to these crime.
