Investigators are waiting for the delivery of DNA testing results to determine if a body found in a ditch in Iberville Parish is missing Baton Rouge teacher Lyntell Washington.

East Baton Rouge Coroner, Doctor Beau Clark, says the body found in a ditch in Iberville Parish yesterday was shot in the head, but he’s unable to make a positive identification because of advance stages of decomposition.

Authorities believe the body is that of a pregnant woman from Baton Rouge. Clark says the female victim was pregnant at the time of her death.

Multiple news agencies have reported Washington was seven months pregnant with Robert Marks' child.

Marks was arrested on June 10 on charges of kidnapping of a child and child desertion after Washington's three-year-old daughter was found alone near her mother’s vehicle.

The Associated Press reported last week Adonica Pelichet Duggan, a school system spokeswoman, said Marks is an assistant principal at Brookstown Magnet Honors Academy and that Washington is an instructional specialist at the school. Marks was placed on administrative leave after his arrest.
