I subscribe to the philosophy that happiness is a choice. No one I'm acquainted with has an ideal life. Complaining about our problems only magnifies them, and interferes with happiness. If we want to be happy, we must work to that end. Here's a  list of 7 things you can do to be happier from inc.com.

#1 Laugh. Laughter stimulates the production of endorphins & hormones that elevate your mood.

#2 Put a rubber band around your wrist. When you catch yourself complaining, snap it. The sting will remind you to stop complaining.

#3 Be grateful. Take stock & you'll certainly find SOMETHING to be grateful for. Keep a daily journal of your gratitude.

#4 Reevaluate your relationships. The old saying, "Birds of a feather flock together" rings true. Surround yourself with positive people.

#5 Meditate. Set aside just a few minutes a day to spend alone, and think.

#6 Sleep. It's important to get plenty of sleep. The human body repairs itself during sleep. REM sleep is like a tuneup for the mind. Most adults should sleep 7-9 hours per night.

#7 Exercise. It helps your mental health by releasing mood elevating endorphins & hormones, in addition to boosting your energy and endurance.

I don't have all 7 of these down, but I'm working on it.
