Do We Have Too Many Teachers?

A recent opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal has indicated that the number of those in the public school workforce is up to 6.4 million from 3.3 million in 1970. During the same time frame, the number of those enrolled in public schools is up only 8.5 percent.
You would think that grades would be up because of that, but we have all seen that they are stagnating at best.
Some have said that it might be time to save some money by reducing the workforce and moving funds to the private sector, but is that a good idea? Let’s talk schools today. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
