Dog Breeder Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — A Lafourche Parish dog breeder faces charges of animal cruelty, resisting an officer and 30 counts of failure to vaccinate.

The Courier reports all counts against Warren Michot, of Thibodaux, have been consolidated, and his trial is set for March 14.

Court records show Michot keeps between 30 and 40 dogs in one pen outside his trailer. Some neighbors had complained about the barking and the smell, and the Lafourche chapter of the Humane Society alleged the way he housed the dogs were cruel.
