Lafayette Parish Sheriff's officials arrested 29-year-old Marion Noel Montes-Velasquez and booked him with attempted second degree murder after he is alleged to have given two large cuts to a woman's neck Saturday.

Deputies were called out to a home in the 200 block of Falcon Drive, but Montes-Velasquez had fled.

He was later tracked down and booked on the attempted murder charges along with charges from two other warrants.

He was also booked on charges of failure to appear for arraignment for resisting arrest and failure to appear for arraignment for possession of drug paraphernalia.
