DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) — The Donaldsonville City Council has voted unanimously to adopt a $6.5 million budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

Budget documentation made available during Tuesday night's council meeting shows total predicted revenues at $6.52 million, with expenditures at $6.47 million.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/JpHqeF ) projected city general fund revenue stands at about $2.88 million for next year, with expended general fund expenditures at $2.87 million.

The city's special revenue funds — which include collections from sales taxes, garbage disposal services and public utilities — project to finish with $3.65 million in revenues, and expenditures of $3.6 million. This would leave $45,050 remaining, which would go into a general fund.

Included in the figure is a projected $1.8 million in sales tax revenue.
