The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is closing the on-ramp from Louisiana Highway 182 to U.S. Highway 90 westbound tonight, during the evenings, through Thursday.

The work will be done at night. The work starts at 8 p.m. and wraps up each of the following mornings at 6 a.m.

The closure is necessary for drainage work in that area.

This closure is part of the Geaux South program to continue the widening of Highway 90 to six lanes between Albertson's Parkway to north of its intersection at Ambassador Caffery.

There will also be an overpass above Albertson's Parkway along with a new railroad overpass and upgraded frontage roads.

The whole project is expected to be finished by mid-2017.
