DOTD Extends Temporary Closure Of I-10 Atchafalaya Welcome Center

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says they will continue the closure of the I-10 Atchafalaya Welcome Center and rest area until Monday, February 17.

DOTD says the crews are still working to install a generator, sewer plant and water supply tank.

In addition to that work, the restroom facility that is north of Interstate 10 will still be closed for renovations until April 30 of this year.

The north parking area will re-open on Monday, February 17.  Once that area re-opens, drivers will now have sidewalks to get to the restrooms.

Message boards will be activated along I-10 to notify drivers of the closure.
