DOTD Makes Enhancements On 511 Website, Work Progresses On I-49

The state Department of Transportation and Development has made several changes to the agency's 511 website, which allows visitors to see real-time traffic information from throughout the state.

Deidre Drulheit with DOTD said the website allows a person to view traffic cameras in certain areas, as well as search for any traffic accidents, road closures, or any other problems along a specified route.

The 511 website is also mobile optimized, Drulheit said.

Drulheit also said work is progressing on the future Interstate 49 corridor, with the building of an interchange in the Jeanerette area scheduled to begin in the summer of 2015.
