Walmart already has the great service where you order your groceries online and it's waiting for you to pick up. Now, shopping is getting even more convenient.

A real estate company in the New Orleans area has partnered with the retail giant to bring Walmart's first drive-thru grocery pickup.

The standalone grocery pickup is planned for the 600 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie.

The developers said that construction is set to end soon and the two-story facility should open by the end of this year.

Currently, Walmart grocery pickup works where customers order online or through a mobile app. When their order is ready, they park in a certain spot at the pickup store, where an attendant puts the groceries in their vehicle.

The new standalone concept site will add an extra location to customers for grocery pickup in Metairie along with the store in the 8900 block of Veterans Boulevard.

Developers hope this spurs more standalone grocery pickup locations.
