Driver Identified In Fatal Calcasieu Parish Crash
48-year-old Craig Elden of Green Valley, Arizona, lost his life Tuesday, September 2, when his truck crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler that morning.
Though the 18-wheeler caught on fire, the driver, 25-year-old Adrian T. Desmeuchet of Stafford, Texas, was not injured in the incident.
La. State Police spokesman Sgt. James Anderson says the crash happened on Interstate 10 Eastbound about two miles from the Louisiana-Texas border. The crash caused the left lane to be closed down for over two hours, while the right lane remained closed for over four more hours.
La. State Police continue to investigate, but warn you that inattentive and distracted driving continues to be a factor in many of the crashes that happen in Louisiana.
